This project focuses on developing a comprehensive Vision Zero Action Plan, with a safety goal of eliminating all roadway fatalities and reducing serious injury crashes by 60% by 2045 on all locally maintained streets.”
“Vision Zero acknowledges that many factors contribute to safe mobility, including street design, speeds, behaviors, technology, and policies. Through this initiative, Safe Streets Lincoln sets clear goals to achieve the shared vision of safer streets for all road users. From Safe Streets Lincoln: “Safety improvements in transportation take many forms. Several safety measures have already been implemented within the city of Lincoln to enhance safety for all road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. Here are a few examples of the safety improvements already in place across the city.” They go on to describe the improvements at the Saratoga Elementary school zone, the pedestrian hybrid beacon, and the 13th St. Roadway configuration as examples.
