Trail Ramblings: You Have Until The End Of October To Add Comments.

From Rachel in the Planning Department “You’re invited to help shape the future of Lincoln and Lancaster County through Plan Forward, a long-range planning effort guiding community growth, housing, the transportation network, and active mobility through 2050. Plan Forward encompasses updates to the Comprehensive Plan, the Long Range Transportation Plan, and a new Lincoln Mobility Plan. The City’s Lincoln on the Move initiative will also gather input on the next eight years of street improvements and growth investments across all four quadrants of the city.” https://lincoln.ne.gov/planforward will take you to the Virtual Open House. The Open House is only on line at this point, but you can still learn about it and make comments this week. This is different than the Safe Streets Lincoln public input survey you commented on last July, though parts are similar. Like that survey, it leads with a map you can drop pins onto and make comments. “Share Your Ideas & Experiences. Add pins where you have experienced safety issues, where you think improvements can be made for walking, biking, driving, taking transit or any other mode of travel.” You can also agree or disagree with existing comments for a location, or add your own. It will ask for your input in setting priorities for transportation growth in The Long Range Transportation Plan guide for the next 25 years for all modes—driving, transit, biking, walking, and freight.

Other maps show the Existing Roadway network, the Crashes and High Injury network, and the Sidewalk and Trail network, among others.
