Senate Preparing to Vote on New Transportation Bill

Via bikeleague.org:

The Bike Apocalypse (A-bike-alypse?) will not come…yet. We were fearful when the new transportation bill (MAP-21) failed to include any of the funding traditionally made available for pedestrian and bicycle transportation, but the support that was relayed to Senators from across the country has had the desired effect: the Cardin-Cochran amendment will restore funding of bicycling and walking to the bill. Some 50,000 sent messages to their Senators. Check the League of American Cyclists blog for links to continue to support this legislation as well as a couple other relevant amendments that could be added to MAP-21.
