Trail Ramblings: Digging A Little Deeper Into The Plans

We posted the link to the Plan Forward virtual public meeting last Wednesday so you could get a head start before the June 7 deadline. If you let that link fly by, here’s a deeper dive into why you should take a few minutes to vote on your priorities. The following graphics and maps are just a few of those you’ll see on the website.

The plan asks for input about priorities on many aspects of future bike facilities and trails. They range from planned and funded to funding constrained-linked to roadway work, planned but unfunded until funding is found, to looong-range development.

If you want to focus on active transportation, and who of us here doesn’t, start by looking at Plan Forward: Transportation and Mobility. From there, you can skip down to Trail Projects, then Bike and Pedestrian (on street) Projects. Then you can look at what’s already been funded. Next, you can weigh in on what you want to be funded by voting on project types, which include on-street bike facilities and trails. Here are some funded projects that will happen in the next few years.

As for more projects, here’s the central map, click through to find the other quadrants.

Here are some proposed but as yet unfunded trail projects:

You can also weigh in on your county-wide trail projects.

This is just a small sample of the information to look at and give feedback on. Please let your views be known by going to the project site and indicating your priorities and comments.
